Enjoyed fish & chips, decent single serve. Just needed a wedge of lemon. Tasty, fresh and convenient, friendly staff and open til 8:30pm. Usual fish & chip special is $12.50 for battered, can pay extra for crumb or grilled. Would recommend

A magnificent serving of $12.50 fish and chips today for lunch. I am a trained chef. The best crispy chips I have had in years! Very crispy outside and creamy fluffy inside. The fish came out perfectly cooked and encased and steamed in a crunchy batter. The selection of vinegars, such as spiced and apple were well thought out and the salt and pepper seasonings were also quite different from the standard chicken salt vs ordinary salt variety. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

Great kai (food) just tell them how you like your fish cooked mention Kiwi said!!! Poke holes in bag let steam out! Do yourself a big favour and try our New Zealand traditional family favourite Watties Tomatoe Sauce on your next feed of fish n chips! You'll love it real tomatoes!!!

Edit 2023: I have been away for a year. The price has slightly increased. And the quality is just as excellent. Top marks. One very happy Englishman. New to the area and first time trying out the $10 fish and chip offer. I will definitely be back. Massive portion size. Expertly cooked battered fish. And tasty (real) chips. Highly recommended.

I have been to this establishment 5-6 times. Tonight's food was disgraceful. 4 young guys who looked like they were rushed off their feet. The fish was cool on the inside , a huge excess of batter and most of all, the fish was hard to the point, I couldn't seperate the flakes with my fingers. I had to give it to the dog...I very rarely write a bad review.

The grilled snapper with herb and spices was very salty and that with garlic paper had far too much salt on pepper. Some of the chips were very dry and the serve was small.

We had fish and chips today, and I have to say they were the best fish and chips that I have had in years, I ordered snapper and got snapper, which doesn’t happen much these days. I would strongly recommend the shop at Mt Hawthorn. I will certainly be going back. Thank you.

Nice fish and chips. Very busy the night I dropped in. I bought a kids fish and chips, a grilled fish and extra chips. If the chips really was 2 serves (or even 1 plus kids) they have really cut back on serve size.
